Wellington Equine Services provides preventative care for your horse through vaccinations, fecal egg counts and consultations. Due to improvements in equine husbandry and nutrition, many horses are now living well into their 30s. Presently, approximately 10% of the horse population is estimated to be in their 20s or older, and these horses are leading happy, healthy lives! As you can imagine, now that horses are living longer, they now require additional care to help them age gracefully.
Vaccines are an important part of your horse’s health care and is a wonderful opportunity for us to visit your friend so we can discuss any concerns you have. We offer vaccination for Rabies, Tetanus, Influenza, Rhinopneumonitis (herpes), Eastern and western Encephalitis, West Nile Virus and Strangles.
Worms! That dreaded word that makes horse owners cringe. Worms can be a significant problem and can lead to issues such as colic, poor body condition and poor performance to name a few. Now is the time that we have to be proactive about your horse’s deworming schedule.
An Annual Wellness Exam is a great chance for us to become familiar with your horse and for your horse to become comfortable with us. The can allow us to identify potential issues and allow us to suggest management changes that can maximize your horse’s health and happiness.
